

Lance Hunter has exhibited his paintings and drawings in galleries in Europe and in many major cities in the United States. These cities include New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Portland, St. Louis, Houston and Philadelphia. Hunter has received over twenty-three awards in regional and national juried art exhibitions. The December/January 2007 issue of International Artist Magazine features an oil painting by Hunter that was selected as a finalist in their annual figure competition. A watercolor of his daughter is featured on the title pages of the book Splash 8: Watercolor Discoveries, a popular anthology of contemporary watercolors published by Northlight Books.
Hunter's watercolor entitled "Rayna" was selected for the 135th Annual International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society in New York. His watercolors have been selected for awards in the Twentieth Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors in New York , the Eastern Washington Watercolor Society's 16th Annual Exhibition and the Texas Watercolor Society’s 54th Annual Exhibition. Watercolors by Hunter were also selected as finalists in the Artist's Magazine’s 1999 and 2001 Annual Art competitions from over 13,000 entries each year.
Stephen Doherty, Editor-in-chief of American Artist magazine selected Hunter's work as one of nineteen pieces exhibited in "American Watercolorists of 1998" at the Stage Gallery in New York. Hunter has exhibited oil paintings with the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and in the Southern Representational Painters National Exhibition. His paintings completed in oil and watercolors hang in private collections in over fourteen states and in Europe.
In addition to his studio work, Hunter has completed more than twenty large scale murals in California, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma and Kentucky. His series of murals in Lufkin, Texas received the President's Award for Best Public Improvement Project from the Texas Downtown Association in 2001.
Lance Hunter is an Associate Professor of Art at Northeastern State University
in Oklahoma teaching painting and drawing classes. He lives with his wife,
artist Sylvia Nitti and their two children, Brooke and Chase.
